Myrrh has been used throughout the ages as an ingredient in incense, perfumes, etc., in the holy oil of the Jews and the Kyphi of the Egypt for embalming and fumigation. Burning myrrh is believed to send evil spirits away. It purifies ritual tools, as does frankincense or a mixture of the two and is believed to bring good fortune and money. Myrrh fortifies the nerves and emotions. It replaces feelings of apathy, weakness and lack of initiative with motivation, power and strength. Myrrh provides the clarity, focus and strength to pull through troubled times. Its cooling and calming effect subdues angry or inflamed emotional states. The famous "Earth Connection" incense used since antiquity is an even blend of prickly pear, Peruvian copal and Myrrh, which provides a stable, nurturing and protective scent for the opening of your inner temple.

Shamans Market is a labor of love and service. We began our spiritual journey in 1994, learning from wisdom keepers of many earth honoring wisdom traditions, mostly in the Americas. We have traveled extensively in Peru and made many meaningful heart connections with the people of this amazing country.
In 1999, after running out of many of the products we use in our Shamanic practice (and not having a trip to Peru in sight) we decided to import products for our friends and community. We are as excited today as we were then to support the growing shamanic community in the US and globally. Additionally, providing a fair trade outlet for the exquisite artisans and the indigenous people of the Andes, Amazon, Tibet and other countries around the world!
