Peruvian Rosewood Essential Oil (5 ml)

$11.00 USD

Considered the scent of the rainforest, Brazilian Rosewood (Aniba rosaeodora) has a fascinating and tragic history. Once plentiful, these beautiful, enormous hardwood trees were sought out and exploited almost to the point of extinction. Camino Verde was able to acquire and home over a thousand rosewood trees and plant the rare seedlings in a partnership with Brillo Nuevo, a native community of the Bora tribe found on the remote waters of the Yaguasyacu River. Now they are forging a sustainable future for this rare once-abused species while providing a meaningful income for proud, marginalized people.

Known to have a joyful and light meditative scent! Enjoy Peruvian Rosewood Essential Oil in a diffuser for a relaxing time. It is 100% pure, natural, and of the highest quality therapeutic grade.

Aromatherapy:  For emotional balance and creating a refreshing and relaxing environment. Promotes a balancing and calming effect without inducing drowsiness. Often recommended for headaches and anxiety.

Plant info: Rosewood is a canopy tree of non-flooded terra firma areas of the Brazilian and Peruvian Amazon. Its overexploitation both for timber and essential oil has led to its classification as an endangered species by the IUCN and CITES, leading to a moratorium on all wild harvest of the species by Peru's national forest authority.

Benefits: Rosewood is effectively antiviral and antifungal in a laboratory setting, but its essential oil is typically used for the highly pleasurable aromatic experience it provides.
