The Mindful Motion Class series was created out of a passion to support individuals navigating health experiences such as POTS, brain fog, Lyme disease, gastrointestinal conditions, arthritis, fibromyalgia, cancer, chronic pain, fatigue, autoimmune disease, and others. The class blends principles of gentle yoga, restorative movement, and breathwork practice to support the body systems affected by chronic health experiences. This class is intentionally created for those who have difficulty changing positions due to dizziness, pain, or joint issues. Buffalo Firefly's owner and founder Mary-Lynne is in recovery from POTS, Lyme & other related autoimmune and systemic health experiences. She's thriving now and wants to support others who are going through the ever-fluctuating daily existence living with these bodies of ours.
The class series includes education about the different body systems impacted by these health challenges. You’ll receive guided instruction in mindful movement from a physical therapist who has POTS and hypermobility herself and a skilled trauma-informed yoga instructor. You'll be surrounded by a supportive community of people who are experiencing similar exercise limitations.

About Meghan (she/her)

Meghan is a physical therapist, Integrative Nutrition Health Coach and chronic illness warrior. She came back to yoga after navigating challenges with POTS and EDS through discovering the power of the breath to shift the nervous system.

She helps those with POTS & chronic fatigue overcome the frustration of not knowing how to exercise without crashing to confidently being able to identify their triggers and enjoy movement again.Through self-awareness, breathwork, and the mind-body connection, she empowers her clients to figure out how to regain their energy and actively get their lives back.

Her passion to give others with health challenges hope to comfortably return to yoga practice led to joining together with Buffalo Firefly for this workshop.

About Lee (she/they)

Lee Barnes is trained in vinyasa and restorative yoga, with additional certifications in trauma-informed yoga and reiki. Lee is passionate about facilitating a space for people to explore an accessible and inclusive yoga practice that feels resonant and healing for them. With a deep reverence for yogic philosophy and history, her teaching approach is centered on not only the somatics of linking the body and breath in movement, but the ways in which yoga extends to all facets of life beyond the mat.
