What is Sound Healing?
Sound healing is an ancient therapeutic practice that uses sound vibrations to restore harmony to the mind, body, and spirit. Rooted in traditions from cultures across the globe, sound healing has been embraced for centuries as a way to reduce stress, promote relaxation, and support overall well-being.
From Tibetan singing bowls to modern sound baths, this practice invites you to reconnect with your inner balance through the power of sound.
How Sound Healing Works
At its core, sound healing is based on the idea that everything in the universe vibrates, including our bodies, thoughts and emotions. When exposed to specific frequencies, the body can resonate and align with these vibrations, helping to:
- Release energetic blockages.
- Reduce stress and anxiety.
- Boost mental clarity and focus.
- Promote physical and emotional healing.
Our sound healing sessions use tools like Crystal Tones® Alchemy Crystal Singing Bowls®, Himalayan metal singing bowls, chimes, tuning forks, & drums.
What is Reiki?
Reiki, pronounced "RAY-kee," is a Japanese energy healing technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. Rooted in the principles of energy flow, Reiki is based on the idea that everything is energy and our bodies are wise enough to heal when they have access to life force energy. If the life force energy in our own body is low, we are more likely to feel stressed or unwell; when it is high, we are better equipped to feel happy and healthy.
The Origins of Reiki
Reiki was developed in the early 20th century by Dr. Mikao Usui in Japan. Dr. Usui’s practice emphasizes the importance of universal energy, which is channeled through a Reiki practitioner to promote balance and harmony in the recipient’s body, mind, and spirit. Energy healing is not new to this moment in time that Usui introduced this method. These methods have existed in indigenous cultures for centuries, however this method was brought to the west by one of Usui's early students, Hawayo Takata.
How Reiki Works
Reiki is a non-invasive, hands-on healing method where practitioners use gentle touch or place their hands slightly above the body to transfer energy. The process is believed to remove blockages, stimulate the body's natural healing abilities, and restore balance to the energy flow.
Reiki sessions can focus on specific areas of concern or aim to achieve overall well-being. Many describe the experience as deeply relaxing, with some reporting sensations of warmth, tingling, or a soothing calmness.
