What to expect
This course is for beginners who are new to Reiki, or those who have learned in the past and would like a refresher. Mary-Lynne teaches traditional Usui Ryoho Reiki, brought to the West from Japan by Madame Hawayo Takata. In person only, in Greenpoint, Brooklyn.
Mary-Lynne is the founder of Buffalo Firefly and has taught multiple cohorts of Reiki since 2020. Her life was transformed after learning Reiki and she wants to share it with everyone — you don’t have to work as a practitioner to benefit. Reiki facilitates healing, deepens meditation, and helps you take your power back to facilitate your own healing, growth, and peace.
Good to know
The course covers: the history and traditions of Usui Reiki; a primer on energy and the body; how Reiki works and its uses; the aura and chakras; basic anatomy; grounding, centering, and protection; the principles of Reiki; hand positions for self, distance, and others; the attunement ceremony; and hands-on practice giving Reiki in class.
Held in person at our Greenpoint, Brooklyn studio, 55 Nassau Ave, Suite 2E.

Each cohort confirms once it reaches its minimum, and we’ll email you to confirm before you make any travel plans; if a cohort doesn’t fill, we’ll move you to the next one or issue store credit (cash refund on request).

Mary-Lynne is an experienced Reiki Master Practitioner & Teacher, Sound Practitioner, Akashic Records Practitioner, Meditation Teacher, crystal expert, and channeler. She founded Buffalo Firefly after 20+ years as a design leader in the tech industry, to help people find peace and presence through mindfulness, sound, and energy healing.
