Bowls for Jen Donatowicz

How to use this page

This page is the record of your bowls and the tuning fork you have from us, plus the five bowls you are considering, so you can see them together.

Tap any of your bowls from us for its full description.

Below are bowls that would go with your set. Tap the heart to save one, then send me your list from the bottom right. Listen with headphones. If you saw something else on the site that is not here, ask me about it.

These are all in the New York studio unless the bowl says Richmond. Bowls from different studios either ship in separate boxes, or they ship together a little later, once one of our team brings them from one studio to the other.

The bowls you’re considering

The bowls you are considering, together

The five you picked are F# major pentatonic, which is F#, G#, A#, C#, D#. A pentatonic is a great way to build the set because all the notes sound harmonious together. The relative minor is D# minor pentatonic (D#, F#, G#, A#, C#). Your top three, A#, D# and G#, with your C, D, F and G are C minor as a full scale (C, D, D#, F, G, G#, A#). D# gives you C minor (C, D#, G). F# gives you D major (D, F#, A) and B minor (B, D, F#). G# gives you E major (E, G#, B) and F minor (F, G#, C). A# gives you A# major (A#, D, F) and G minor (G, A#, D). C# gives you A major (A, C#, E).

Next to them: the 14 inch F#-45 SuperGrade, an octave below the 9 inch F#. The 5 inch A#-20 Mini SuperGrade, an octave above the 6 inch A#. The 9 inch C# Tesseract Salt, an octave below the 6 inch C#. It is labeled -15, but it plays at -22, so it is within your range.

What is already in your set

Nine bowls, between -45 and -20 cents. Choosing a bowl within -45 to -20 cents will keep your next bowl within 20 cents of your current bowls. Once you choose a new bowl, that determines your next bowl’s cent range. We want to stay within 20 cents for all your bowls when possible.

Your nine are all seven notes of C major (C, D, E, F, G, A, B). They give you C major (C, E, G), F major (F, A, C), G major (G, B, D), A minor (A, C, E), D minor (D, F, A) and E minor (E, G, B).

Minis, tuning forks and pyramids

All of them, whatever the note. These are played by hand on their own rather than alongside your bowls, so they are here for you to know they exist. Judge them by ear.
